BYD sold nearly million passenger vehicles in Q1, up 60%. Export is up 111% to a new record-high

BYD bought 377,420 EVs globally in March, bringing its first-quarter gross sales to almost a million. The corporate exported a record-breaking 206,084 electrical automobiles, up 111% from Q1 2024.

In Q1 2025, a Shenzhen-based automaker bought 416,388 passenger BEVs, up 39% from 300,114 in Q1 2024. The BEV gross sales accounted for 42.2%, down from 48.1% in Q1 final 12 months.

The passenger PHEV gross sales had been 569,710 items, up 76% from 324,284 in Q1 2024. The PHEV gross sales accounted for 57.8%, up from 51.9%.

BYD ceased manufacturing of the ICE-only automobiles in April 2022 and sells solely battery electrical automobiles (BEVs) and plug-in electrical automobiles (PHEVs)

12 months-to-date, BYD bought 1,000,804 automobiles, of which 986,098 had been passenger automobiles.
